PlantID Care Terms of Use

PlantID Care, published by InnerScope Hearing Technologies. Last updated 2026-08-12.

Never eat anything based on this app

Do not eat, taste, brew, or otherwise consume any wild plant, berry, seed, root or mushroom because PlantID Care named it. Identification from a photograph is a guess, and many edible species have poisonous lookalikes that a photograph cannot separate. Mushrooms are the worst case: misidentifying one can kill you, and no photograph is enough to rule that out. If you forage, use a qualified expert in person, never an app.

If you think a person or an animal has eaten something harmful, do not wait and do not consult this app. Contact a doctor, a veterinarian, or Poison Control immediately.

Identification is a probability, not a fact

PlantID Care returns its best guess with a confidence level. It can be confidently wrong, particularly for lookalike species, young plants, damaged plants, unusual cultivars and anything photographed in poor light. Treat every result as a starting point to verify, not an answer to rely on.

Care guidance and health diagnosis

Watering schedules, care instructions and plant-health diagnoses are general guidance generated for the species we think we saw. They are not tailored to your climate, soil, water or light, and they can be wrong. Judgement about your particular plant stays with you.

Toxicity information

Toxicity information is educational and describes what is commonly reported about a species, typically to pets. It is not medical or veterinary advice, and the absence of a toxicity warning is never evidence that something is safe.

This app is not a medical device

PlantID Care gives no medical advice, diagnoses no condition, and treats nothing. It makes no claim that any plant prevents, treats or cures any disease in a person or an animal. For any health question, ask a doctor; for an animal, ask a veterinarian.

Subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your App Store account and renew automatically until cancelled. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown before you confirm the purchase. Manage or cancel in your App Store subscription settings, at least 24 hours before a period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy.

Your content

Your photos and your plant collection are yours, and they stay on your device. You are responsible for having the right to photograph what you photograph.

Acceptable use

Do not use PlantID Care to identify plants for consumption or foraging, to break the law, or to attack, overload or reverse engineer the service.

No warranty, and limits on liability

PlantID Care is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app or from reliance on any identification, care guidance, health diagnosis or toxicity information it produces.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and some places do not allow the exclusions above, so they may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
